BRONSON — Uniontown High’s Eagles played away games at home Monday. They did not enjoy home field advantage.
Oswego High’s Indians powered past the Eagles 12-2 and 13-3 in two run-ruled, five-inning games. The Eagles fell to 0-7 on the season.
Each game featured a big inning for the Indians.
In the first game, Oswego pulled away from Uniontown in the fourth. It led 5-2 at the time on its way to a 12-2 win.
John Kuns was the Eag-les’ starting pitcher and Austin Jefferis came on in relief. They gave up 13 hits, two of which were home runs.
Speaking of home runs, Uniontown’s two runs came via the long ball in the first inning. Jordan Woods hit the blast over the center field fence for his third of the year and 13th of his high school career. Max Labbe and Mitch Newman each had a single in the game.
Oswego pushed out to a 5-0 lead and was up 6-3 when it scored seven runs in the fourth inning. The Indians had 10 hits in the game.
Garrett Murrow, Labbe and Woods pitched for Uniontown. Labbe hit two singles in the game. Hitting a single apiece were Woods, Jefferis and Joe Barbosa.
