Eagles, Wildcats earn All-TRL softball honors

Uniontown High’s Eagles placed four players on the 2012 Three Rivers League All-League Softball Team. Maramton Valley High’s Wildcats had one on the first team and two earn honorable mention.

The all-league team was announced following Jayhawk-Linn’s stint at the Kansas Class 2A state softball tournament.

Uniontown’s Lakyan Coyan, Hope Jurgensen, Mandie Ridge and Taylor Wade were named to the first team by league coaches. The Eagles finished third in the league. Britney Stokes earned honorable mention.

Marmaton Valley’s Kailey Boyd garnered All-TRL first team honors. Wildcat teammates Kaitlin Ensminger and Kacie Shadden earned honorable mention.

League champion Chetopa, which also qualified for Class 2A State, had three players named to the first team and four to the honorable mention list. The Green Hornets and Jayhawks each lost in the first round of the tournament.

Jayhawk-Linn’s first team players were Megan Deer, Tess Murrow and Bailey Sluder. Chetopa had Amanda Carrell, Laken Conard and Chelsea LaPee selected. Joining them were Northeast’s Jessica Choate and Kenzie Tims, Oswego’s Kinzie Nesbitt and Jordan Schreppel and St. Paul’s Nikki Sears.

Jayhawk-Linn’s Carly Jackson and Emily Thyer, Chetopa’s Jaya Johnson, Erin Kabrey, Kayla Underwood and Ellie Withington, Oswego’s Ashton Eckerman, Northeast’s Amber DeMaranville and Jasmine Tindle, and St. Paul’s Kasey Phillip and Darly Kramer were on the honorable mention list.
