MOUND CITY — Uniontown High’s Justin Query had a strong first round at Monday’s Jayhawk-Linn High Invitational to pull out the 10th-place medal.
Query shot a 44 in his first nine holes but had a little trouble the final nine, finishing at 95. The tournament was played on the Sugar Valley Golf Course.
Uniontown’s Chance Hoener shot a 118 and Cole George had a 132.
“This was Cole’s first 18-hole varsity meet so we knew his score would be high but wanted him to get the experience,” said Jason Tourtillott, UHS coach.
Marmaton Valley finished sixth in the team standings with a 438. Anderson County won the team title with a 327.
The Wildcats were led by Dalton Houk’s 99 and Dillon Yeager at 109. James Allison shot a 111 and Scott Tholen had a 119. William Nunnery had a 130 and Ben Smith shot a 136.
