Eagles take two from Wildcats

MORAN  — Uniontown High’s Eagles got past Marmaton Valley High’s Wildcats 7-6 and 15-2 in Three Rivers League baseball action Monday.
After falling behind 2-0, the Eagles rallied for seven runs in the middle innings. They had to turn back their hosts in the sixth. Marmaton Valley scored four times to get within one run.
Anthony Myers was the winning pitcher for Uniontown, giving up nine hits, walking two and hitting two batters plus striking out six.. Ethan Ericson went the distance for Marmaton Valley. Ericson struck out 18 batters, walked three and hit one batter.
Tanner Lewis had two singles and a double for the Wildcats. Ericson hit a two-run home run and a double. Derrick Carr had two singles. Cole Becker doubled. Jimmy Frye and Gage Stewart had a single each.
Ty Clayton hit three singles for Uniontown. Tyler Hall, Myers, Kyle Mills and Garret Murrow each had a single.
Uniontown won in five innings in the second game. DuShaun Robinson was the winning pitcher. Marmaton Valley saw Lewis, Becker and Frye take turns on the mound in a losing effort.
Uniontown was led at the plate by Tyler Felt with three singles and Jordan Woods with two. Hitting one single each were Max Labbe, Clayton, Myers, Robinson and Jake Dawson.
Marmaton Valley got a single and a double from Erison. Hitting a single each were Frye, Lewis, Nathan Whitcomb, Taylor Lhiullier and Nathan Smart.
