FORT SCOTT — Uniontown High’s Eagles are using the Fort Scott Country Club as their home golf course in 2010. Thursday was the Uniontown Invitational.
Pleasanton won the team title with a 334. The Blu-Jays were led by top medalist Joey Morrisey, who shot a 74 for the 18-hole event.
Jayhawk-Linn was second with a team total of 340 and Erie was third at 362. Yates Center finished fourth with a 396. Oswego was fifth at 406.
Marmaton Valley took sixth at 408. Uniontown had a 433 for seventh place.
Uniontown’s Justin Query finished in the top 10. He carded an 86 for eighth. Marmaton Valley’s Dalton Houk shot 92 for 13th and Yates Center’s Jake Morrison tied for 14th with a 93.
“I’m sounding like a broken record but putting is our weak point,” said Kevin Barnes, Yates Center head coach. “We could get about 6-10 strokes off each player’s score by eliminating three putts.”
Yates Center’s Dylan Bauman and Paul Stockbrand each carded a 99. Blake Francis had a 105.
Joining Houk on the Marmaton Valley team were James Allison with a 98, Dillon Yeager at 101 and William Nunnery with a 117. Other MVHS scores were Scott Tholen at 122 and Ben Smith with a 132.
Playing for Uniontown with Query were Chance Hoener, 112, Cole George, 115. Brenton Esslinger, 120, Seth Bartlett, 125 and Brenden Wood, 126.
