Eagles claim three wins

RIVERTON — Uniontown High’s Eagles “always enjoy” playing in the Riverton High quadrangular volleyball meet. According to UHS head coach Jackie Hall, the teams are very competitive and give her team a good challenge.
“Seeing some very competitive teams we don’t normally see throughout the season is great. We played well, not as intense as I had  hoped,” Hall said.
“We struggled early against Columbus but the team turned things around and got the job done. I’m really proud of the way we stayed together and found the will to win.”
Uniontown rallied from a six-point deficit and beat Columbus 25-21, 25-16. Jessica Murrow served up 10 points. Hayden Rathbun delivered five kills and Hope Jurgensen had four kills.
Hannah Travis had two kills and two solo blocks at the net. Ashley Nietfeld had two kills. Taylor Shook was credited with 17 set assists.
The Eagles defeated Riverton 25-16, 25-13. Abby Dixon and Lauren Rockhold each served up eight points. Neitfeld put down eight kills and had two solo blocks at the net.
Rathbun had four kills. Shook was credited with 23 set assists.
Uniontown beat Galena 25-9, 25-17. Murrow served 10 points, including six ace serves. Rathbun pounded down seven kills and made three solo blocks.
Jurgensen also had three solo blocks at the net along with two kills. Nietfeld had two kills and two blocks. Shook had 12 assists.
