MORAN — Uniontown High’s Eagles won the Marmaton Valley High Junior Varsity Invitational Saturday. The Eagle JV volleyball team went undefeated on the day.
The Eagles defeated Central Heights 15-9, 15-9 in the championship match. Amber Bartlett served for 11 points. Emily Shinn had one kill.
“This was a really good day for our team. The girls played well throughout the day and had to come from behind in some tight situations,” said Jackie Hall, Uniontown head coach. “It was a total team effort.”
Uniontown beat Humboldt 15-8, 15-10 to open the day. Bartlett served six points while Taylor Wade was 5 of 5 on net attacks. The Eagles got past West Franklin 15-8, 11-15, 15-9. Lakyn Coyan had eight service points and Wade had one kill.
Uniontown posted a 15-12, 15-4 win over Pleasanton.
Coyan served up eight points and Britney Stokes had two kills.
The Eagles defeated Southeast 15-4, 15-7 with Bartlett serving six points and Mandie Ridge with two kills and Shinn with a solo block.
The Eagle junior varsity is 7-1 and goes to Southeast-Cherokee Tuesday.
