ERIE — Uniontown High’s Eagles and Marmaton Valley High’s Wildcats finally got on the golf course Monday playing in the Erie High Invitational.
The Eagles finished sixth with a 436 team score. Caney Valley won the 18-hole tournament with a 342. Marmaton Valley did not have enough golfers playing for a team score.
Seth Sympson led Uniontown with 96, shooting a 44 for his first nine holes then had a 52 in the second round. Chance Hoener carded a 105 and Zach Travis had a 111. Drew George and Brendon Wood each shot a 124.
“Overall for our first meet, I think we played well. We definitely have room for improvement,” said Eagle golf coach Jason Tourtillott.
No report on Marmaton Valley’s individual scores was made to the Register.
