Edna and David Donovan came to Iola in 1983. They found themselves at Country Lanes Bowling Alley that year where, over the next  29 years, they have become fixtures at the bowling alley.

The Donovans were inducted into the Iola USBC Bowling Hall of Fame in March.

Edna and David have bowled on several league teams throughout the years. They both have volunteered as certified coaches for the Country Lanes’ youth leagues the past several years.

Edna served as secretary and treasurer for the Iola Women’s Bowling Association until it merged with the men’s league (ABC) to make the Iola USBC. David was active in the merger and served as the association chairman until 2011 when he became the association’s manager.

The Donovans help input association information into computers for league, bowler identification numbers and awards.

The Donovans participate in state and national bowling tournaments. Edna has organized the Bowling for Veterans League tournament  the last several years.

They both are active in league bowling offices.
