Cubs XC compete at league meet

Humboldt competed in the Tri-Valley cross country meet last Thursday. The Cub boys finished third and the girls finished sixth.

Three runners were named All-League led by freshman Drew Wilhite who finished sixth with a time of 19:50. Also earning the honor was senior Seth Barlow who finished seventh with a time of 19:55 and freshman Madi White who finished eighth with a time of 25:25.

On the girls? side, senior Alex Melendez finished 18th with a time of 27:49, sophomore Zoey Wilson placed 22nd with a time of 28:35, and freshman Taylor Korte finished 26th with a time of 29:38.

Freshman Peyton Galloway finished 32nd (31:08), freshman Katy Parker placed 37th (33:48) and junior Brookllen Gardner finished 37:19.

For the Cub boys, junior Luke Yokum placed 12th (20:24), senior Caleb Coronado finished  22nd, (21:48), sophomore Thane Meadows finished 25th (22:05). Times for freshman Cooper Woods was 26:08 and senior Noah Carson, 49:24.

For the middle school, eighth-grade girls Elizabeth Melendez (14:37) and Leah Mueller (15:56) finished first and second and eighth-grade boys Javyn Hess (12:50) and Peyton Wallace (15:05) finished second and fifth.

The high school Cubs will run at the Burlington 2A regional meet on Saturday.
