Cubs JV beat Neodesha

Humboldt High junior varsity football opened its season with a 30-14 win over Neodesha on Tuesday.
Aden Kelley had 56 yards rushing and Kyle Kobold had 15 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Kobold also received a 17-yard touchdown from quarterback Gavin Page.
Defensively, Kelley led the way with five tackles followed by Kobold, Briar Orth and Titan Michael each with four. Blake Walker had three tackles, a fumble recovery and Drake Harrington and Trenton Heisler each had interceptions.
“This wasn’t a bad performance for our first junior varsity game of the year,” coach Jeremy Weilert said. “We fully expect to continue to get better and better as the year goes on.”
Varsity will travel to Fredonia on Friday while the junior varsity will host the Hornets on Monday.
