BURLINGTON — Shooting just 28 percent from the field, 16 of 56, Humboldt High’s Cubs dropped a 53-47 decision to Burlington High’s Wildcats Friday night.
It was the Cubs’ third loss in Tri-Valley League play. They are 10-5 overall.
Humboldt railed 25-20 at halftime. The Cubs never made the difference up.
Noah Thornbrugh had 14 points and seven rebounds. Tanner McNutt fired in 13 points. Blake Crawford cleared six rebounds.
Blake Thomsen hit for 25 points for Burlington. Korbin Ratzlaff added 18.
The Cubs were 13 of 17 at the free-throw line. Burlington went 7 of 12.
Humboldt hosts Caney Valley in league play Tuesday.
