Crest starts out strong

Home or away, it was the same outcome for Crest Middle School’s Lancers. They opened the basketball season with victories last week.
The Lancers began with a 47-23 win over Southern Coffey County Middle School at home Oct. 31. Crest rolled to a 22-9 halftime lead.
Crest got 13 points each from Hunter Frazell and Kellen Ramsey. Brandon Brailler tossed in nine points and Colton Strickler had six points. Evan Godderz scored four points and Garrett Sipe had two points.
Then on Thursday came a 47-21 win over host Pleasanton. The Lancers led 21-9 at halftime.
Ramsey ripped the cords for 24 points for Crest’s A-team victory. Strickler added six followed by Brailler with five points, and Frazell and Sipe with four points apiece. Dylan Young and Godderz each had two points.
Crest’s B-team is also 2-0. It beat Southern Coffey County 28-8 on Monday, led by Young’s 15 points and Jake Pinney adding 10. Preston Utley and John Hartman each scored two points.
The Lancer B-team decked Pleasanton 28-8. Pinney and Young each had 10 points while Cade Goodman added six points and Hartman had two points.
The Lancers hosted Northeast-Arma Monday.
