A cold and windy evening came up big for Crest softball Thursday night when the Lady Lancers swept St. Paul at home 19-5 and 20-5.
The wins move them to 4-2 so far this season.
In game one, the Lady Lancers led by seven after the first two innings. Crest only scored one run in the bottom of the third and St. Paul responded with three in the top of the inning to get within five.
Nine unanswered runs in the fourth and fifth innings put the Lady Lancers up 14, ending the game on a five-inning run rule.
In game two, St. Paul jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first two innings before Crest bulldozed the Lady Indians in the final two innings, scoring 19 total runs. St. Paul got off a final run in the fourth before the game ended.
Ridley Black pitched both games.
Crest will host Yates Center on Monday before traveling to Jayhawk-Linn on Thursday.
