Crest Middle School boys beat MVJH boys

COLONY —  Crest Middle School’s boys pulled away from visiting  Marmaton Valley Junior High’s Wildcats Thursday. The Lancers beat the Wildcats 51-29 in A-team play.
Crest led 13-11 after one quarter and outscored Marmaton Valley 11-6 in the second period to take control. It held a 27-12 scoring edge in the second half.
Rene Rodriguez fired in 20 points for Crest. Austin Green had nine and Hunter Frazell scored eight.
Tossing in four points each for Crest were Evan Godderz, Kellen Ramsey and Kyler Bowen. Colton Strickler had two points.
Marmaton Valley won a two-quarter B-team game 14-7. All of Crest’s points came in the first quarter.
Garrett Sipe had five points for Crest. Brandon Brailler added two.
Scoring for Marmaton Valley in the two games was not reported to the Register.
Crest goes to Uniontown Monday.
