PLEASANTON — Several Crest and Marmaton Valley High track athletes earned top placements at the Three Rivers League meet Thursday.
The Lady Lancers, who racked up 105 points, were took home the TRL team title.
Crest finished six points ahead of runner-up Jayhawk-Linn. Marmaton Valley took third with 82 points in the 10-team competition.
On the boys side, Crest took third with 95 points, while Marmaton Valley was fifth with 57 points, behind TRL champion Jayhawk Linn, which scored 124.
Gold medal winners Crest’s Gunner Ellington taking first in the boys 3200-meter run, Marmaton Valley’s Evan Kent won the boys discus and shot put and Brayden Lawson took first in the boys javelin.
Crest’s Josie Walter took first in the girls 1600-meter run, Peyton Schmidt won the girls 3200 and Marmaton Valley’s Piper Barney was in the girls 300-meter hurdles.
Marmaton Valley’s Janae Granere was a two-time winner, in the girls long jump and triple jump.
Crest and Marmaton Valley will be in Iola next Friday for the Class 1A Regional, hosted by Waverly High School. Field events begin at 3 p.m.; track events at 4:30.
