MORAN — Crest High’s baseball team kept its record spotless on the season with a pair of shutout victories over Marmaton Valley Thursday.
The Lancers improved to 8-0 with wins of 10-0 and 18-0.
The Wildcats fell to 3-7.
Avery Blaufuss pitched four hitless innings, striking out 11, to earn the victory. Jerry Rodriguez came on in relief, pitching a hitless fifth, with two strikeouts.
Stetson Setter was the main protagonist on offense, smacking a double and singling twice, while driving in three, but he was hardly the only contributor.
Rogan Weir doubled, Trevor Church singled twice, and Karter Miller, Ryan Golden, Holden Barker, Denton Ramsey and Jack White all had singles.
Crest’s batters also walked seven times, and four Lancer hitters were hit by pitches.
THE LANCERS continued their fun with a five-run first inning and 12-run second in the 18-0 romp.
Setter and White each had a single and double to pace the offense. Setter drove in a pair of RBIs. White drove in one. Church and Tucker Yocham also had singles.
Lancer batters earned 13 walks to help aid their cause.
Meanwhile, Yocham allowed one hit over three innings of pitching work. He struck out two.
