HUMBOLDT — A special Sunday night at the races brought in a new racing series to Humboldt Speedway.
The occasion was the first ever appearance of the All Star Circuit of Champions 410 sprint car series at Humboldt.
There, Tyler Courtney of Indianapolis topped all comers in the 35-lap feature, jumping from his third-place start in the process.
He was followed by Cory Eliason of Visalia, Calif., in second; Zeb Wise of Angola, Ind., in third, Hunter Schuerenberg of Sikeston, Mo., in fourth and Justin Peck of Monrovia, Ind., in fifth.
Action from two other regular racing series also were a part of the action Sunday at the three-eighths-mile track.
Humboldt’s Jackson McGowen took first int eh Lowe’s Travel Stops Midwest Modifieds feature, followed by Ryan Smith of Moran, Tyler Davis of Chanute and Kolt Knobkch of Iola. Humboldt’s Scott Collins took fifth.
Cole Campbell of Mexico, Mo., took the top spot in the Ray’s Metal Depot USRA B-Mods feature, followed by Chanute’s Kenton Allen in second, Jeremy Chambers of Baldwin City in third and Luke Phillips and Tyler Kidwell, both of Chanute, in fourth and fifth, respectively.
The regular race season resumes this week, with action returning to its regular Friday night schedule.
