ARMA — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s football team started off in a 14-0 hole Thursday, and could never recover.

The Wildcats trailed 30-6 at halftime of a 54-28 defeat.

“From halftime on, we started to match their intensity,” Wildcat head coach Dan Uhlrich said. “At halftime, Northeast was by far the more physical team.

“We play Northeast later in the year,” he continued. “Adjustments will be made.”

Tyler Lord, Brevyn Campbell and Todd Stevenson all played well, Uhlrich said, “Cooper Scharff and Garrett Morrison had nice receptions.”

Marmaton Valley hosts Pleasanton next Thursday. “They will be a quality team,” Uhlrich said.
