MORAN — Marmaton Valley High’s softball team dropped a Three Rivers League doubleheader at home Tuesday.
Chetopa High’s Hornets used an eight-run second inning to win 16-3 in the opener. They pulled away from a 3-3 tie with the Wildcats in the second game to win 7-3.
Hannah Endicott and Maggie Meiwes pitched for the Wildcats in the first game. Meiwes went the distance in the second contest.
Jamee McEndree had a single and a double for the Cats in the first game. Hitting a single each were Kailey Boyd, Endicott, Mi-chelle Heskett, Meiwes and Kacie Shadden.
Endicott and Morgan Henry each had two singles in the second game. Boyd, Heskett and Meiwes each had a base hit.
