From the inside pole position in the USRA Modified feature race, Chase Domer launched to a fast start and never looked back. He won the event wire to wire Friday. It was an outstanding performance by the Nevada, Mo., driver, and his first Humboldt feature win of the year. John Allen finished runner-up, with newcomer Mitch Keeter in third, Jim Body taking fourth and Jessy Willard in fifth.
The B-Mod feature was a hard-fought affair between a group of very closely matched cars and drivers, initially thought to have been won by Tyler Kidwell. However, a post-race tech inspection revealed a non-functioning rev limiter, a requirement on all B-Mod engines, which led to Kidwell being disqualified, and Riley Whitworth being awarded the win. Brian McGowen was second, followed by Dylan Allen, Jim Body and Jason Thurman.
Derrek Wilson made a long-awaited return to the winner’s circle in Pure Stock, Mike Churning turned in a strong second  place finish, just ahead of Wayne Johnson. Don McIntosh finished fourth, with Joey DeCoster fifth.
Tyler James became the first person this season to best Patrick Kay in stock car division feature action at The Hummer. “P.K.” was second, followed by Russ Moyer, Jeremy Willard, and Tyler Vincent.
Even as the sport compact division continues to develop, Tyler Davis remains undefeated in feature action. Aaron Farwell was this week’s runner-up, followed by Tevyn James and Kaylee Matlock.
Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints also appeared this week at the Speedway. M.K. Billings of Kansas City, Mo., won the main event, Barry Lamb of Iola was second, with KC driver Ken Billings third. Ryan Kent of Lone Jack, Mo., took fourth, and Iola’s Merrill Lamb was fifth.
Next week’s program will feature vintage racers along with the regular show.
