The Yates Center Wildcats hope to bounce back after falling to Central Heights in an 18-1, 13-0 sweep at the hands of the Central Heights Vikings Monday.

Junior outfielder Kinley Morrison tallied the Wildcats’ only RBI of the evening.

Central Heights improved their nearly flawless record to 8-1.

In the opener, Morrison tallied nine strikeouts while Avery Eakin posted five in the finale. Despite being shutout in the finale, junior outfielder Lauren Shultz and sophomore third baseman Mylin Tidd had a respectable game in the batter’s box, hitting in 1 of 2 appearances. Yates Center returns to the diamond Thursday on the road when they face Three River Conference rival Jayhawk-Linn for a doubleheader. First pitches for both games are slated for 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
