MORAN — Marmaton Valley High’s Wildcats broke a losing streak with big wins over visiting Chetopa High’s Hornets Tuesday.
The Wildcats picked up their first two Three Rivers League wins against four losses. Marmaton Valley won 15-0 in four innings and 19-1 in three innings.
Cole Becker pitched a two-hitter for the Wildcats in the first game. He walked two and had nine strikeouts.
Jimmy Frye notched his first pitching victory of the season in the second game. He allowed four hits and one walk, plus struck out four.
Derrick Carr had two singles and two doubles in the opener. Becker hit two triples and a single and Gage Stewart had three singles.
Ryan Smith and Sage Hall each hit two singles. Daylen Houk doubled and Frye singled.
Marmaton Valley scored 13 runs in the first inning of the second game. Becker connected for two singles and a double to lead the offense.
Houk hit a double and a single. Frye and Smith each had two singles. Carr, Austin Harrison, Stewart and Hall each had a base hit.
The Wildcats (3-11) host Oswego Thursday in TRL action.
