LIBERTY, Mo. — Play was slow in Monday’s William Jewell Fall Inviational golf tournament. It took 5 1/2 hours to play the 18-hole event.
Allen County Community College’s Rob Carlson tied for fourth place with a 74. Cole Murrin of Kansas City, Kan., Community Collegen Tim McGinnis of Evangel Univeristy tied for first, both carding a 71.
“Rob played very well again as did Tim (Stinnett). The slow pace made it very difficult to get into a good rhythm of play,” said Mike Hayes, ACCC golf coach.
Tim Stinnett shot a 79, tying for 18th. Casey Bettis finished with an 83 while Tyler Roth shot a 90 and Drew Stevenson had a 98.
Allen County combined for a 326 for sixth out of 10 teams. Evangel won the team title with a 296 on the Cardinal Hill Golf Course.
Allen County plays in the Jayhawk Conference Designated No. 2 tournament at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson on Sunday and Monday.
