Could the Chiefs face a former draft pick at quarterback for the Denver Broncos this weekend?
Its possible.
Backup Broncos quarterback Chad Kelly was arrested on a charge of first-degree criminal trespassing at 1:17 a.m. Tuesday morning. Kelly, who had a troubled college career at Clemson before transferring to Ole Miss, is the Broncos No. 2 quarterback behind starter Case Keenum.
Kelly, nephew of former Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, was arrested in Englewood, Colo., outside of a residence and was held at the Araphahoe County Jail, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.
If Kellys arrest shakes up the depth chart, No. 3 quarterback Kevin Hogan could be the next man up behind Keenum for the Broncos game at Arrowhead on Sunday.
Hogan, you might recall, was selected by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft. The Stanford product was released just a couple of months later by the team on Sept. 3, 2016.
Before he was added as the Broncos No. 3 quarterback earlier this year, Hogan spent time with the Browns and Washington.
Thats not the only off-the-field thing happening in Broncos country today. The Broncos are also under fire for a Halloween party at which a couple of players wore costumes that included fake cocaine
