PLEASANTON — Crest High’s Lancers and Uniontown High Eagle girls are out to find their way back to the championship games of the annual Pleasanton Blu-Jay Mid-Season Tournament. Both teams lost in the 2010 title contests.
The 2011 Blu-Jay Mid-Season Tournament tips off Tuesday at Pleasanton High School. Games are played in two gyms — north and south.
In the opening round Tuesday, the girls’ division begins with Uniontown playing Altoona-Midway at 4 p.m. in the north gym and Prairie View taking on Humboldt High’s Lady Cubs at the same time in the south gym. Crest High’s Lady Lancers play Central Heights, a team that beat them 48-8 recently, at 8:30 p.m. in the south gym.
Uniontown High’s Eagle boys open up against Prairie View at 5:30 Tuesday in the north gym. At the same time in the south gym, Humboldt High’s Cubs play Jayhawk-Linn. Crest takes on Pleasanton at 8:30 p.m. in the north gym.
Times and sites for semifinals and consolation games on Thursday will be determined following Tuesday’s action.
Final games are scheduled for Saturday starting at 1 p.m. The girls’ championship game is at 4 p.m. followed by the boys’ title game at 5:30, both in the north gym.
