Yates Center, Marmaton Valley and Crest volleyball opened their season Saturday at the Three Rivers League tournament hosted by Jayhawk-Linn.
None of the teams ended up in the top three and just Yates Center, who finished tied atop of their pool with a 4-1 record along with Uniontown, made it to the championship round.
The Lady Cats faced Southeast in the third-place match and ended up falling in a close third set 25-23.
Marmaton Valley went 2-3 in pool play but did not advance and Crest ended the day with a 1-4 record in the other pool.
Marmaton Valley will host Crest along with Madison and Hartford later today while Yates Center will host Marmaton Valley and Eureka next Tuesday.
