Area softball, baseball athletes recognized

Sports in Kansas announced their All-State teams for high school baseball and softball teams this week. Take a look at which area high school ball players earned recognition for their play.

Local baseball and softball athletes were recently recognized by Sports in Kansas, an online site.

Baseball

Iola

Senior Jarrett Herrmann took Class 4A All-State First Team honors for his role at third base and on the mound. Korbin Cloud, a junior, was named to the All-State Second team for his duties as pitcher and in the infield.

Senior outfielder and pitcher Brandon McKarnin and freshman catcher Tre Wilson made All-State Honorable Mention.

Humboldt 

For the Cubs, senior pitcher and infielder Trey Sommer and junior outfielder Sam Hull each took All-State First Team honors. Sophomore left-handed pitcher Logan Page and sophomore infielder Blake Ellis were each tabbed to the All-State Second Team.

Crest 

For the Lancers, senior pitcher Trevor Church, senior infielder Stetson Setter and junior outfielder Rogan Weir were named to the All-State First Team. Senior infielders Jack White and Holden Barker were named as All-State Honorable Mentions.

Wyatt Ard was named to the Class 2-1A All-State Honorable Mention list.
