Home was a good place for Humboldt High’s Lady Cubs Tuesday. They went 1-1 at home.
The Lady Cubs notched a 25-22, 18-25, 25-14 win over Oswego.
“The girls were a little tight with first-match jitters but they were scrappy and finished the match strong,” said Stephanie Splechter, Lady Cub head coach.
Hannah McCall led the Lady Cubs at the service line with 14 points and seven aces. Amanda Maxton served up 12 points with three ace serves.
Melissa Davidson had five kills and Brandi Malloy had four kills. Maxton provided 10 set assists. Taylor Fitzmaurice had seven digs.
Neodesha beat Humboldt 25-17, 25-23 a non-league match between the two in Tri-Valley League teams. Splechter said the Lady Cubs’ had a tough match serving with 16 missed serves.
Malloy, Davidson and McCall each had three kills. Maxton had five assists.
Marmaton Valley High’s Wildcats were at Central Heights High in Richmond. The Wildcats dropped a 25-3, 25-11 decision to Central Heights. They lost to Jayhawk-Linn  High 26-24, 23-25, 25-11 and to Metro Academy 25-17, 25-9.
“It was a long night for us. I told the girls that it’s hard to compete with a team that is at a completely different level, which Central Heights is,” said Lindsay Ermel, MVHS head coach.
Maggie Meiwes and Cheyanne Miller  each had a kill. Kaitlyn Ensminger served five points against Central Heights.
In the Jayhawk-Linn match, Ermel said her team served well. Against Metro Academy, she said the Wildcats couldn’t get anything going on the court.
Meiwes and Miller each had six kills on the night and Kayla McNutt had four kills.
Southern Coffey County High’s Lady Titans swept a non-league quadrangular at Pleasanton Tuesday. The Lady Titans defeated Prairie View 25-10, 25-7, beat St. Paul   25-22,    25-13    and downed host Pleasanton 25-18, 25-7.
“Overall it was a good night. We lost focus a little bit in the first sets against St. Paul and Pleasanton,” said Korey Lankton, SCCH head coach. “All the girls improved tonight.”
The Lady Titans are 4-2 on the season.
Leading the Lady Titans was Ashton Isch with 27 defensive digs and 10 kills at the net. Sam Jacob put down 18 kills and Kristin Stephens had 13 kills. Jenna Witteman had 23 digs.
Keasha Parks was credited with 23 assists and served 12 of 12. Brooke Scheele made 22 assists and led the serving with 25 out  of 25 serves. Sarah Webb downed 10 kills.
The Lady Titans had 41 serving aces for the three matches. A. Isch had 11 ace serves and Webb had 10.
Crest High’s Lady Lancers were on the road also Tuesday. They were at Waverly.
The Lady Lancers lost 26-24, 25-9 to Madison. Ashley Catt served for 15 points. Katrina Strickler had 16 set attempts.
Crest lost 25-20, 25-12 to Waverly. Chelsey Brooks served up 10 points. Strickler had 11 attack attempts.
The Lady Lancers finished with a 21-25, 25-10, 25-19 win over Hartford. Nikia Stewart served for 14 points. Tessa Louk and Brooks each had three kills.
Yates Center hosted Flinthills, Altoona-Midway and Eureka. The Register did not receive a report on the matches.
