Allen Community College’s soccer teams played conference matches against Barton Community College Saturday.
The Lady Red Devils played the first match, winning 2-0. Kristen Tainatongo kicked a through ball to Rachel Nincehelser who scored to take the lead in the opening minutes. In the final minutes, Tainatongo scored another goal, this time from Lexi Godlove, to seal the win. Goalkeeper Jessica Pancoast earned her second shutout of the season.
This was the first time the Lady Red Devils have beaten Barton in the program’s history. ACC (2-0-1) plays at 2 p.m. Wednesday at home against Garden City.
Allen’s men lost to host Barton. The Red Devils were held scoreless in the 2-0 loss. The Red Devils (1-2) play at 3 p.m. Saturday at home against Maplewoods.
