The Allen Community College men’s and women’s soccer teams hit the road this weekend to face Garden City CC on Saturday and Dodge City CC on Sunday.
Both the men and women notched one win and one loss during the trip.
The men began their weekend by falling 3-1 to Garden City.
Troy Henry scored the Red Devils’ only goal of the contest with the assist coming from Carter Metzger.
James Everett had 12 saves on the day.
But the men turned their luck around the next day when they traveled to Dodge City and came away with a 1-0 victory.
Jordan Velasco assisted Rahshei Thompson for the lone goal of the game.
Everett needed just eight saves to shut out the Conquistadors and help the Red Devils improve to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
The women’s team, on the other hand, began their trip with a victory over Garden City before dropping their contest with Dodge City.
On Saturday, the Lady Red Devils dominated the Lady Busters with a 4-0 win.
Hailey Melin scored the only goal of the first half with an assist from Hayley Hunter.
In the second half, three different Allen players found the back of the net to secure a blowout win.
Rachel Nincehelser, Madison Evans and Payton Huckabay all scored goals.
Huckabay assisted Nincehelser on her goal before Nincehelser assisted Evans and Huckabay on their goals.
Emilee Mitchell, who recorded six saves against Garden City, had her fourth shutout of the year.
In the Lady Red Devils’ second game of the weekend, Allen lost 1-0 in overtime to Dodge City on Sunday.
Despite out shooting the Conquistadors 15-7, the Lady Red Devils could not break through offensively and fell to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in their conference slate.
The men continue their season Thursday against Cloud Community College at home while the women’s next contest is Saturday at Hutchinson Community College.
