Last Friday, Allen County Special Olympics took to the bowling alley to compete in the Strikes and Spikes Games held at Olathe East Lanes.

Although it is still the summertime, this is event is considered the fall state tournament for Allen County Special Olympics. The tournament consists of bowling and volleyball, but Allen County did not partake in the volleyball portion of the games.

At the last tournament in Pittsburg, three athletes received first-place medals. This time, Tina Craft and Tom Weide  were the two top-dogs for Alen County.

Bridgette Eckroat and Casey Riebel both finished in second to earn silver medals for their efforts. Brandon Griggs and Steven Riebel brought home bronze to round up Allen County’s efforts at the state tournament.
