Game one

The first game was a heartbreaker for Allen. The Red Devils grabbed an early 2-0 lead before Cowley scored three late runs for a comeback win.

Anthony Nino put Allen ahead in the top of the second on an RBI groundout to second base which plated Cade Schupp for the 1-0 advantage. Braden Hendrix then knocked an RBI single to bring home Gabe Glenn for the 2-0 lead.

Cowley’s Chance Cox was on the mound for the Tigers for five innings, allowing two runs on six hits and struck out two.

Brett Buchanan started on the mound for Allen and lasted into the sixth inning when Cowley tied the game with one swing of the bat. Buchanan threw 5.1 innings and allowed two runs on three hits with three strikeouts.

A passed ball from Buchanan in the bottom of the sixth allowed a couple of Cowley runners to come around and score in Keaton Campbell and Trayson Miller and knot the game at 2-2.

After four innings of scoreless baseball, Cooper Schwindt knocked an RBI single to score Miller for the walk-off 3-2 victory.

In his four innings on the mound, Allen’s Jack Bland allowed one run on four hits and struck out one Tiger.

Game two

The latter game was never in the Red Devils’ favor as starting pitcher Bobby Walker was tagged with five runs in the first inning and recorded one out.

Schwindt reached first base on an error by the third baseman Ty Hammack for the early 1-0 lead. Campbell then walked with the bases loaded which plated Jadyn McNealy for the 2-0 edge. Miller flew out to left to score Cole Martin from third base for the early 3-0 lead.

The final two runs of the first inning for the Tigers came on a Jordan Shepherd bases loaded walk and Garrett Rosenberry hit an RBI groundout to first base to plate Campbell for a 5-0 lead heading to the second inning.

It didn’t take long for Cowley to extend their lead. Miller ripped a two-run single, Luke Shannahan had an RBI single and Shepherd knocked a two-run double for the 10-0 lead.
