Congratulations to last week’s player of the week, Humboldt running back Trey Sommer. Now, it’s time to find out who stood out the most this week as the action across the area was fierce.

Player of the Week:

Marmaton Valley Running Back Quincy Adams

Adams scored the final touchdown in Marmaton Valley’s wild 106-98 win over Oswego Friday. The senior running back also scored each of Marmaton Valley’s first three touchdowns to open the game while going over 200 yards yet again.

Final stats: 209 yards, five touchdowns, seven receptions, 60 yards receiving vs Oswego.

Quarterback of the Week:

Humboldt quarterback Gavin Page

While Page didn’t put up huge numbers passing the ball, it was what the senior did running that helped lead Humboldt to a victory. Page was efficient in passing, and rushed for almost 250 yards in the 62-18 win.

Final stats: 5-9 passing, 83 yards, touchdown, 247 yards rushing, three rushing touchdowns vs Jayhawk-Linn.

Running Back of the Week:

Crest running back Holden Barker

Barker was the player of the night for Crest against Chetopa. Barker put in a full night of work in 24 minutes, rushing for five scores to lead the Lancers to the win and a 3-3 record on the season.

Final stats: 222 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns vs. Chetopa.

Wide Receiver of the Week:

Marmaton Valley WR Jaedon Granere

Not often can you call a freshman an “impact player” but that rings true for Granere. The freshman wide receiver provided an extra spark for the Wildcats in their 106-98 win over Oswego, accounting for eight total scores.

Final stats: 11 receptions, 128 yards, 3 touchdowns, 135 yards rushing, five rushing touchdowns vs Oswego.

Defensive Performance of the Week:

Crest safety Karter Miller

Miller helped shut down Chetopa’s offense, flying all around the backside of the defense, almost intercepting a few passes. Miller, a junior, is having a good season with 24 tackles and an interception earlier in the season.

Final stats: four tackles, two passes defended, forced fumble, fumble recovery vs Chetopa.
