HUMBOLDT — After every feature race at Humboldt Speedway, a select number of top-five cars are required to undergo post-race technical inspections. Items checked change each week, so it’s in a driver’s best interest to “keep it legal.”
Two drivers were unable to do so after a thrilling factory stock feature, including the race winner. Scott Stuart, who claimed the checkered flag, was disqualified, as was fifth-place finisher Patrick Kay.
That gave the victory to Gary Langworthy Jr. Jay Lamons Jr. wound up second, Jeremy Wilson in third and David Matlock in fourth. Tim Phillips was fifth.
The USRA modified/McCarthy Auto Group modified feature race featured door-to-door racing between Ryan McAninch and Justin Folk until a late mechanical failure sidelined Folk’s entry. McAninch rolled to the win from there, despite a strong challenge from runner-up Jess Folk Jr. Johnny Allen, Travis Smith and Cody Schniepp rounded out the top five.
Jimmie Davis led from start to finish in the Ray’s Metal Depot B-Mod feature, while Tim VanGotten and Tyler Kidwell finished second and third, respectively. Fourth went to Riley Whitworth; Matthew Lang was fifth.
A backup engine carried Derrek Wilson to the winner’s circle in the Whitworth Construction pure stock feature. Mitchell Coulter took second, Jared Hayden was third. Fourth went to Donnie Devers. Mike Aielo was fifth.
