ACCC volleyball, soccer athletes earn conference, region honors

Allen County Community College had four athletes earn postseason honors  for fall sports.
Freshman Nicole Rockhold, an outside hitter for the Red Devils’ volleyball team, earned second-team honors on the 2009 All-Jayhawk Eastern Division Volleyball Team.
Rockhold also received All-Region VI, Division II, District N honors. She averaged 3.2 kills per set with 297 kills for the season. She also served 21 aces and was credited with 516 digs.
Rockhold, who is 5-8, is from Oskaloosa.
Josh Hardy led the Allen County men’s soccer team to the 2009 Region VI  semifinals in October. The 5-8 forward from Topeka was named to the All-Region VI first team soccer team.
Hardy earned second-team All-Jayhawk Conference second-team honors for the second year. He scored 17 goals and had one assist this season. As a freshman he scored 20 goals and had three assists.
Sarah Roether earned 2009 All-Jayhawk Conference honorable mention as a midfielder. She scored seven goals and had three assists this season for the Red Devils.
As a freshman, Roether had six goals and two assists. The 5-8 sophomore from Louisburg earned second-team all conference and Region VI honors last year.
Samantha Pluma, a 5-10 sophomore from Fairbanks, Alaska, earned 2009 All-Jayhawk Conference honorable mention as a defender.
