What better way to chalk up the first win of the season then on your home field in Region VI play.
Allen County Community College’s men broke into the win column with a 5-1 decision over visiting Hesston College. That came on the heels of the Red Devil women posting a 4-2 win over Hesston Wednesday.
Both the Red Devil women and men are 1-0 in Region VI soccer play. The ACCC women evened up their overall mark at 2-2 while the men are 1-3 on the season.
The Red Devil men had five different players score a goal in the game. Matt Searcy, Tyler Jordan, Henrique Pinto, Dalwinder Dosanjh and Johnny Acker each found the net for Allen County. Jordan Drake was in goal for the Red Devil men. Drake was credited with eight goal saves.
In the women’s game, Mailia Talbert and Kayla Besmer each kicked in two goals for the Red Devils. Allen County’s goalkeeper Cheace Mahaula made seven saves.
The women play at Hutchinson Saturday. The ACCC teams host Independence Tuesday.
