ACCC golfers inconsistent

LAWRENCE — Inconsistency continues to hamper Allen County Community College’s golfers.
The Red Devils played in the Ottawa Fall Invitational Monday and Tuesday. They   ended up seventh out of eight teams.
“We just have to play better individually and as a team,” said Mike Hayes, ACCC golf coach.
Allen County goes to Salina to play the Jayhawk Conference No. 2 designated tournament this Monday and Tuesday. It will be on the Salina Municipal Golf Course.
Josh Stanley  and Clinton Moore were a shot apart as the Allen County leaders at Ottawa’s tournament. Stanley carded a 168 (75-93) and Moore shot a 169 (85-84) on the Eagle Bend Golf Course.
Tyler Roth finished the two-day event at 176 (87-89), Seth Walden shot a 177 (92-85) and Jake Morrison had a 180 (92-88).
Former ACCC golfer Rob Carlson, who is now playing for Kansas Wesleyan, tied for fifth in the tournament. Carlson, who was ACCC’s top golfer the past two years, shot a 148.
Tim Jasper led Southwestern to the team title. Jasper was the top medalist with a 143. Southwestern combined for a 583 team total.
