ACC women fall to Cloud

Cloud County Community College erupted for 34 third-quarter points to take control in an 83-43 win over Allen Community Colleges.

Allen Community College’s women were able to keep visiting Cloud County in check through a rough-and-tumble first half.

The Thunderbirds led 11-7 after one quarter and 30-20 at the break.

Cloud’s offense found its groove in the third quarter, erupting for 34 points in the frame to pull away for an 83-43 victory.

Monday’s loss comes in the regular season finale for Allen (1-21 overall and 1-19 in Jayhawk Conference play).

Addison Towe and Madisyn Holloway paced the Red Devils in scoring with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Adji Mbaye pulled in 15 rebounds before fouling out late in the contest. She also had two steals. Melody Wilfong and Hallie Reed both dished out two assists.

Le’Yanna McGinnic led all scorers for the T-Birds with 23 points.
