The Allen Community College volleyball team hit the road and fell in three sets to Coffeyville Community College on Wednesday night (25-17, 25-7, 25-16).
The sweep marks the Lady Red Devils’ 11th loss in their last 13 games.
Allen is now 7-20 on the season and 1-6 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. Fourteen of the team’s 20 losses were three-set sweeps like Wednesday night’s defeat.
Coach Whitney Shaw and company have just five games left on the regular-season slate.
Allen must go back on the court tonight when it comes back home to face Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Red Devils have a 3-6 record in home games, including their season opener that took place at Iola High because Allen’s gymnasium was not ready for use.
Allen has just two conference games left in its regular-season schedule to attempt to climb up the league’s standings.
Entering Wednesday, Neosho County Community College and Kansas City Kansas Community College were two and two-and-a-half games ahead of Allen in the KJCCC II Division standings, respectively.
