ARKANSAS CITY — Allen Community College’s losing streak reached three games Monday with a tough road loss at Cowley. IN WOMEN’S action, the Red Devil women lost 80-59 to remain winless in conference play (7-17 overall).
The Red Devils led by 10 at halftime but came up empty on consecutive fast-break opportunities in the final minutes proved costly in an 88-82 defeat.
Allen led most of the way, head coach Andy Shaw said, but “let another close game slip through our hands in the final minutes.”
Raheem Tyner and Josh Sweet scored 15 points each. Tyner also had 10 rebounds, including six on the offensive end. Cody Sluder and Courtney Stockard also reached double figures.
The loss drops Allen to 15-11 overall and 3-5 in Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division play.
The Allen squads don’t have much time to mope. They’ll host Coffeyville in a doubleheader Wednesday. The women tip off at 6 p.m.; the men at 8 o’clock.
