ACC softball splits, baseball sweeps

COFFEYVILLE — Allen Community College’s softball team started off hot but went cold against Coffeyville Community College on Tuesday.
The Red Devils won the first game 7-4 and lost the second, 5-0.
In the first game, Allen recorded 13 hits in the win. Ashley Womack led the day with a 3-for-3 day at the plate, which included a home run and double. She also had three RBIs.
Erin McManigal had two singles and three RBIs. Tristyn Delgado recorded one single and one RBI. Cassidy Reynolds, Cheyanne Daniels and Justine Dougan each had two base hits. Shelby Maycumber had a single.
Baileigh Rager pitched seven innings, giving up two earned runs and walking four. She gave up six hits and had one strikeout.
In game two’s 5-0 loss, Allen’s offense went cold. The team combined for four hits — all singles — by Reynolds, Womack, Delgado and Kayla Bourgeois.
Erin Pearly made it through 1 1/3 innings giving up four runs, three of which were earned. She had trouble with command, walking five batters. McManigal came in for 4 2/3 innings of relief. She gave up one run and had two strikeouts.
Allen (8-13) will play at Cottey College on Sunday. The first game of the doubleheader starts at 1 p.m. The games were originally scheduled for today.

SALINA — Allen’s baseball team earned two wins at Brown Mackie on Tuesday. The team is now on a three-game winning streak.
ACC won 13-3 and 7-6 in the doubleheader. Statistics weren’t available at presstime.
Allen (7-16) has a doubleheader at home against Highland on Thursday starting at 1 p.m.
