Allen Community College’s softball team heads into the NJCAA Region VI, Division II playoffs this weekend.
The Red Devils play at Independence Community College in a best-of-3 series. The teams are scheduled for a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
A third game, if needed, is on Sunday.
Winners of the opening round series advance into the Region VI, Division II tournament May 5-6 at Topeka’s Hummer Park. Kansas’ Region VI sends two teams to the NJCAA Division II national tournament.
Allen is in District E. If the Red Devils win this weekend, they will face the winner of the Johnson County-Hutchinson series.
Allen sports a 29-26 record.
