FORT SCOTT — Two double-digit victories over the weekend improved Allen Community College men’s basketball record back to 5-5. THE RED DEVILS showed no mercy on Saturday, beating Metropolitan Community College — Penn Valley 84-60. Allen outscored the Scouts 45-27 in the first half and 39-33 in the second half. ALLEN’S WOMEN lost on Saturday against Northern Oklahoma College — Tonkawa 87-74. The Red Devils were outscored 49-38 in the first half and 38-36 in the second half.
Thanks to a big first half, Allen beat Wentworth Military Academy on Friday 78-66. The Red Devils outscored Wentworth 48-32 in the first half, but were bested 34-30 in the second half.
Courtney Stockard led ACC with 22 points and nine rebounds. Josh Sweet added 16 points and five assists, while swiping the ball twice. Jordan Nanton scored 12 points and dished out three assists.
From the bench, Jermaine Long scored 13 points, Darnell Jones-Bowie scored nine points and Darren Spruill added six points.
Allen shot 50 percent in the game making 29 of 58 shots.
Sweet led the team with 23 points and also had four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Stockard scored 21 points and had four assists.
From the bench, Jones-Bowie scored 11 points and had four assists. Tevin Bartley led the team with seven rebounds and added three points. Long scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds.
The Red Devils host Tabor JV at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
