After back-to-back losses broke a previous seven-game win streak last Wednesday and Sunday, the Allen men bounced back with a 90-76 road win over Dodge City.

The Red Devils improve to 11-3 and 3-1 in Jayhawk Conference play heading into a nearly month-long winter break.

It was a balanced effort Monday night with five Allen players scoring in double-digits including four starters.

Two of those double-digit scorers, sophomore Perry Carroll and freshman Trez Hankins, started off hot, each making multiple threes to take the early lead and start the momentum.

The Red Devils led by as much as 12 in the first half but a Conquistador run to cut the lead to eight at 48-40 by halftime.

Allen jumped back out to double-digits rather quickly to start the second half and grew that to as much as 20 midway through the half.

To Dodge City’s credit, they didn’t lay down and methodically cut that lead back down to six leaving the Red Devils to close things out at the free throw line. The Red Devils got it done and walked away with the win. Carroll led the way for the Red Devils with 25 points, four assists and two steals. Hankins and Malik Hardmon each had 16 points. Hankins hit four threes and Hardmon grabbed eight rebounds.

Freshman Devonire Glass had 14 points and seven rebounds in his best performance as a Red Devil and Wesley Anderson Jr. had 13 points including going 9-10 from the free throw line.

Players will head home for the holidays for the next three and a half weeks before opening the spring semester on January 5 at home versus top-10 ranked Hutchinson Community College.
