Tradition is a big part of Allen Community College baseball. On April 20, a new tradition begins.
The first class of the newly formed Allen Community College Baseball Hall of Fame will be inducted.
The ACC Baseball Hall of Fame banquet is April 20 hosted by the new ACC Diamond Club, a Red Devil baseball alumni and supporters organization.
Allen’s 1983 baseball team, which finished third in the NJCAA JUCO World Series will be inducted.
Michael Whipps and Elliott Bass, two of the first ACC baseball team members, along with 1987-88 pitcher David Proctor and the late Judith Bragg, who was a huge Allen baseball booster and ACC teacher, fill out the inaugural class.
Former Red Devil player Tom Price (1980-81) is the president of the ACC Diamond Club.
The banquet is at 7 p.m. in the ACC student center’s Stadler Room.
The Red Devil baseball team has a four-game home Jayhawk Eastern Division series that weekend.
The Red Devils host Highland Community College on Saturday and Sunday.
