I, as an Iolan, and as an engineer who lost his job a few months back due to the economic mess we are in, completely agree with Mr. Carl Lestinger and commend him for a well written and thought-provocative article.
I would also like to add a sixth item to his comments which should address the tax increases we will face to compensate for the reduction in state aid to local school districts. We are Taxed Enough Already (TEA) and it is time for our expenditures to shrink down to our available income. This is only common sense that should also be exercised by our federal, state, county, city, and school governments. Thank you.
