In the book, “Will Rogers’ World,” he says: “We are always reading how many men paid over a million dollars in income tax … But we never read about how many there is that are not eating regular.”
Take that, Rush Limbaugh, when you’re complaining about all the taxes rich folks pay and poor folks don’t.
It’s easy to give advice when your stomach is full. But try to boss people around when you have no power to do so and you’re stomach is empty.
Rogers also said: “Education never helped morals. The smarter the guy, the bigger the rascal.”
Most of the people who swindled the people on Wall Street didn’t belong to the ignorant mafia, but are what we would consider the brightest and most learned.
We need no separation of church and state when it comes to adopting a national moral conscience.
Sincerely,
Jim Brownrigg,
