Thank you, Mr. Lynn, for your article supporting a new transportation program.
Every dollar spent on highway construction, and this includes local county bridges and city street paving, equals three dollars in economic development. Even a small local project brings construction workers to the community, who spend money at motels, restaurants, buying gasoline, etc.
Kansas is investing less today in construction (in real dollars) than we were in the 1970s. There will be no new highway projects without a new transportation program.
Let your representative, Bill Otto, know that you want him to vote for a new transportation program.
