Elwin K. Dick, 94, rural LaHarpe, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.
Elwin was born March 5, 1921, on the family farm south of LaHarpe, the son of Arthur C. and Altie A. (Wordell) Dick. He graduated from high school at Enterprise, and then attended Union College and later the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. On July 26, 1942, he married Fern Jacobs and they made their home on a dairy farm south of LaHarpe. She preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 2005.
He was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors are his two sons, Merlin Dick and wife Glynda, Heartsburg, Mo., and Ken Dick and his wife Martha, LaHarpe; one daughter, Norma Cramer, Humboldt; one brother, Dr. Clyde Dick, Greeley, Colo.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Elwin was preceded in death by three brothers, Avery Dick, Dr. Willis Dick, and Dr. Marvin Dick.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church or the Allen County Community Food Pantry and they can be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola.
